The Al-Amal School was designed with the objective of enabling hundreds of orphan girls to continue their secondary education in a secure and safe environment.

Hundreds of orphan girls miss out due to lack of schools and a lack of financial means. Not only restricted to providing educational services; the compound will include medical care for students and the local neighbourhood, as well as having a bakery, and a small supermarket. These additional facilities will help generate an income stream for the school.

The Al-Amal School will provide the best educational environment to the poor orphan refugee girls in East Sudan. The school area is approximately 7,838 meter square. Amenities such as electricity, water, telephone, and internet are all available.

The project was managed by our partner in Sudan ISWO, they have over 20 years experience. It was also partly funded by RAF from Qatar. Teams from Ethar Relief visited and monitored the project at least twice a year.

The project started in early 2016 and was completed within a year.
