There are many opportunities in life and this volunteering for Ethar is one of them. It is the opportunity to have a share in our vision of a world where the hungry are fed, poverty is alleviated and the basic requirements of people in need are fulfilled with respect and love, a world in which human beings are safer and more secure from poverty and need.  The opportunity to follow the example of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) where Allah had said about him in the Quran: “And We have sent you (O Mohammed) not but as a mercy for all the worlds.” (21:107)

Regardless of your age, gender or background, if you have the passion and the commitment to make a difference and support the good work Ethar is striving to achieve you are the person for us. Giving charity is highly recommended in Islam and is not limited to giving money. You can help by giving your time, using your skills; lending us a helping hand and your valuable advice. Every sincere word and action can make a difference to Ethar’s work in Sudan and soon in Eritrea and other regions in the Horn of Africa. You can help us in administration, advertising, media and IT, looking after other volunteers or join the event day team to help with stewarding, ticketing, kids activities and lots lots more. The Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said: “There are two blessings in which most people are in great loss: Good health and Free time.” (Bukhari). Join our volunteers today.

What are you waiting for?

The Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) said: “Take benefit of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free-time before your preoccupation, and your life before your death.” (Hakim)

Whether you’re 25 or 55 years old or whether you decide to volunteer for one event or on an ongoing basis with other projects, there is so much you can gain. You’ll get the opportunity to enhance your skills, gain new ones; meet people from different walks of life and build bridges of friendship; stand out from the crowd when applying to further your education and employment; discover new hobbies and talents and have a personally rewarding experience through giving back to the community at large.  Join our volunteers today.

Ethar has teamed up with ETV an exciting programme that organises and coordinates volunteering opportunities for young people aged 16- 25 years. This collaboration aims to ensure that you gain the most of your volunteering experience, be reimbursed for your expenses and gain a nationally recognised qualifications and award as a thank you and a way of furthering your educational and career prospects. If you are aged over 25 years of age we would love to hear from you. We value your contribution and we will recognise your hard work and effort.

Allah told us in the Quran: “And whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allah’s Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers.” (34:39).
