Jazakallah Khair to all those who donated at Ethar Relief’s live appeal on Al-Hiwar channel on 15th August 2010. Alhamdulillah we had a huge success thanks to the generous donors who called in internationally; from the heart of the Middle-East to Europe, Africa and the Americas. Inshallah the money will reach those who are most in need and many whom have known only hunger and starvation for the entirety of their lives.

The Prophet (PBUH) replied : ” Give regular charity out of your property, for truly it is a purifier.” May Allah [SWT] reward all who donated, bless your family and place barakah [blessings] on your wealth Inshallah.

Ramdhan Appeal launched

Ethar Relief has launched its annual Ramadhan Appeal. Director, Omar Sultan, expressed his honour being part of yet another appeal in this blessed month in aid of refugees around the world and in particular, refugees South Easter Sudan.

Premiere screening of documentary

‘Remembering The Forgotten’ documentary was launched today at Birmingham Central Library Theatre.

The event was attended by guests such as Salma Yaquob, Victoria Brittain, Moazzam Begg, Shakyh Zaheer, Abu Hanifa, and Abu Usama.

The documentary, filmed and told by 6 professionals from Birmingham, details the plight of the Eritrean Refugee crisis in Eastern Sudan.

Volunteers lunch

The inaugural Volunteers Get Together Lunch has been hosted at the Al Manar Centre. The lunch meeting, attended by guest speakers, was an opportunity for volunteers based across the country to meet.

The management thanked volunteers for their outstanding work and gave presentations illustrating the progress of various active projects and future plans of the charity.

Also, the ‘Remembering the Forgotten’ documentary was exclusively screened. The documentary due to be launched in Birmingham next month, details the suffering of families in Eastern Sudan’s refugee camps.

Ethar Relief’s Executive Director, Sultan Omar appeared as a guest on Al-Hiwar TV. The show explored some of the causes of the refugee crisis in places like Easter Sudan.

Mr Omar, detailed the work of the charity and the current situation in the refugee camps.
